State of Affairs: the Search after 10 zines

ZIGZAGZINE's status

Number eleven. The right time for an inventory. I am not only searching for knowledge about my subjective self but also, being a methodical person (believe it or not), about the system underlying people's behaviour in general. The search does not follow a pre-planned course, though I did have a few plans. As might be expected when starting a search, I ran in the course of the writing process into some of my fears. It indeed turned out to be difficult for me to come forward with my view on astrology. I was aware that only very few people take the trouble to get to know themselves subjectively, and although they secretly read pulp-astrology texts whenever they can, they speak with disdain about it and give it no real further attention. My fear gave me a motive to examine in which way my view on astrology is different and how I could defend this opinion. The necessity to pay close attention to my problem luckily helped me a lot. I hope you can smile, like I can now, about the fears that bothered me.
I have emphasized the approach of man as a system with a process-type structure, by replacing some generally used astrological terms and by applying another than the usual division of the circle. I use 'phases' in stead of 'houses', and I partition the circle in 12 equal parts. The reason why I use 'phase' may speak for itself; the arguments which are valid for inequal partitioning are not valid in this process approach. All capacities, represented by Ascendant, MC, Sun and planets, develop and are therefore processes. I use the term function here.

Individual application

Meanwhile three patterns of beginning are ready: the Cancer, the Scorpio and the Pisces pattern. The problem I had in handling my fear has played some tricks on me here.
The individual implementation of a pattern is emphasized. I assume that every person has his individual sequence available for moving between phases in the process and that nobody uses the normal sequence.
The possibilities of patterns in the birth chart in order to better understand the individual process of becoming have been a pleasant surprise to me. This technique is not generally used.

General processes

Three difficult texts of which I have to admit that I loved working on them. It must have been the feeling that I was getting a grip on the combination of subjectivity and systematics which made me enthusiastic.
In the numbers 3 and 6 I have described the human process which can serve as a frame in which consciousness and the capacity to make decisions also can be placed.
In number 9 I have shown how four co-ordinates can be determined and through these the singularity of the system (according to the theory of relativity).

Subjective stories

The personal stories are introduced while they raise basic questions and can clarify some essential matter. I want to show how 1. paying attention to important subjective experiences, 2. searching for astrological similarities and 3. the analysis of the relation between the two, work out practically in my example. I'll continue feeding psychologists.

Mutually related concepts

Up till now I have used a number of notions without defining them. Concepts like expectation, value, power, freedom, etc. can perhaps theoretically be clearly defined. I believe such concepts have an individual meaning for a certain person. Because he applies the same notion in different processes in another phase and because the notions are always mutually related in a personal way, their content and application can be developed by that individual. For that reason every concept should be described in relation to other notions. I plan to work out this idea further, if possible.
