 Wolf At Home ?

Men has many similarities with the domestic dog 'Canis Familaris'..
Both like to socilaize, form groups, choose (sometimes) leaders, whom are then followed and respected. Each individu, dog or or man, has a certain dedication to the leader himself.
Both know jalousy, affection, anger and obliginess towards others in the group.
Due to these simailarities, 'Canis Familaris' became "Men's Best Friend...".

Wolf
The wolf is most likely the immidiate ancestor of the dog. Wolves are known to have extraordinary developed characteristics of senses, social behaviour, strong pack order rules, excellent communication abilities and being great team workers. Thanks to that wolves are excellent hunters and able to defend.
Man love young animals. In particular due to the fact that a (wolf) puppy shows willigness to join with men, it became our forefathers clear, which value these animals could have in their 'human' settlements. Wolves show then a 'natural' protectiviness to defend their 'adopted' human pack.

By breeding with the most tame and faithful 4-legged ones (wolves) watch-"dogs", hunter-"dogs", or just pets appeared.
Currently over 400 dog breeds are known. and exist by the grace of humans being able to create new breeds.
Certain mental and/or physical characteristics were either combined, enhanced or reduced in order to obtain varieties having the ebility to survive under circumstances, where men put them in charge. In fact the different breeds are more a result of 'artificial' then of 'natural' selection. In spite of men's interferences, certain fundamental elements, being present in wolves, are still preserves within the dog's genes.
One of these elements is the behaviour in the pack.....

Wolf Pack
Socializing means respecting the packorder.
One is the leader,....one is the underdog.
Natural threats, like growling, showing teeth, certain body expressions, prevent against serious fights and maintain the ranking in the pack.
A puppy learns very quickly these threats and signals and gets so a temporary position in the pack. Games become more serious when reaching the adult age.
Finally the really dispute is won by by the one who is able to show both physical and mental a superiority. At the end of that process the most dominant ('the Alpha') is 'born'. The other members of the pack accept the new pack-order and are subjected to the leader.
By proper observing behaviour and expressions within the pack the ranking can become clear and also which 'puppy'  will challenge the 'leader' in the future.
There will always be a day that the authority of the leader is questioned by a younger, high temperamental (he-) dog.....

The relation between man and dog is based on:
                   =A dog considers a human a dog
                   =A human considers a dog a human
Thus both are part of the pack.......
Beer eating
An eating wolf is respected..whatever position in the pack.
What is near your jaws is yours......
Even the most dominant animal respects that !
But at a moment of doubt it might be stolen.........

Without any doubt the chow is one of our most ancient breeds of dogs.  Chinese annals report the chow's ability to scent, point and retrieve. Documented is also its speed, stamina in sled- pulling, sheep- herding and hunting. A chow is known for its loyalty and being reserved, as well as very vigilent. A chow is a servant and wanted to be served..!
