When one owns a set top DVD-recorder as well as a PC with a DVD burner, at a certain moment one could get the idea of wanting to edit the recorded material. This could be to embellish the menu, to combine clips from different discs, to remove add blocks, etc.

But, the structure of a DVD created by a DVD recorder is very different from a commercial one. This means that standard methods can not be applied. Some years ago, on this subject hardly any information could be found, in spite of the frequent questions on this subject in the various video forums.
So, when after a lot of experiments I discovered a suitable solution, I wanted to share this with those who are interested in this subject.

Although this homepage is concentrated on the editing of DVD recorder discs, the used/described freeware programs are also very suitable for “normal” video streams.
