Software categories Home made software can be discriminated according to computer language, but most important of all is the goal for which the software has been written (category). Computer languages used are C, Basic, Fortran and SAS. SAS is some kind of an exception, as the language is SAS, but the goal is to support the use of SAS by way of macros. (Dedicated software in other languages has been written actually, but not presented here: Pascal, APL, Lisp, Prolog, SPSS, EpiInfo.) A categorization according to the use of the software can be: SAS macros, C utilities, music (metronome), data (processing), miscellaneous (a.o. various DOS utilities, mostly batch files; checking for the presence of ANSI.SYS or equivalent: ChkAns11). Software categorieën Zelfbouw software kan onderscheiden worden naar computer-taal, maar het belangrijkste van alles is het doel waarvoor de software geschreven is (categorie). Computer-talen, die gebruikt zijn, zijn C, Basic, Fortran en SAS. SAS is een soort uitzondering, want de taal is SAS, maar het doel is het gebruik van SAS te ondersteunen door middel van macro's.
