With three other people (an American and two Swedes) I went to the Algarve for a weekend. We had a rental car and drove via Montemor-O-Novo, Évora (where we spent the first night), Beja and Mertola to the Algarve. In the Algarve we spent one night and then drove back to Lisbon with a stop in Sagres to see the most south western point of Europe.
Montemor-O-Novo:

A view on Montemor, taken while standing near the castle on a hill.

We also went into the castle. Unfortunately, my camera gave up working there, so this is the only picture I have from there.

Misericórdia Church.
Beja:
Next day we went to the Algarve, but made some stops in Alentejo. The first one was Beja, where I started taking pictures with another camera.

Torre de Menagem.

The market of Beja.
On our way to Mértola:

On our way to Mértola we got lost somewhere. We drove through the middle of nowhere and ended up in a deserted little village where we saw this old school which had probably been abandoned for decades. It felt weird.

This is the landscape we drove through. Beautiful, isn't it?
Mértola:

In front you can see some kid of eating place where we had lunch. In the back you see the castle.
A mill somewhere in the Algarve:

Cabo de São Vicente:
On our last day we went back, but not without a visit to Cabo de São Vicente and the Aljezur beach.

Cabo de São Vicente, near Sagres is the most southwestern point of Europe and so there are lots and lots of tourists. But it's nice. I was here year and years before as a little boy.

Here I am on the cliff, with very strong wind and just a few staps away from the Atlantic Ocean. Very dangerous.
A dried up river:

This is somewhere in the rocks near the Aljezur beach. It looks like some kind of river which dried up years and years ago. I walked through it a long way and it was all spectacular.
