Castelo de Almourol, Torres Novas, Tomar, Abrantes

At my university in Rotterdam, I met some Portuguese girls on exchange, who study in Lisbon at the Nova University. When I went to Portugal, I met them all again. In Portugal, I spent a weekend in of the girl's hometown, Entroncamento. She showed me around by car and I saw a lot of things I would not have seen without her. I took a lot of nice pictures, and you can see some of them here on this page.

Castelo de Almourol:

The first thing she showed me was this ancient castle on an island in the Tagus River. We were brought there by a little boat.

Torres Novas:

In Torres Novas, we went to another castle. There are a lot of castles in Portugal.

Tomar:

Tomar was founded as head-quarters of the Templar knights in the 12th century.

The famous window at the Convent of Christ.

Igreja de São João Baptista.

Abrantes:

The last thing we did, was to visit Abrantes. And of course, we went to a nice castle again.

Here I am standing on a wall of that castle.

A skate ramp in front of a castle. Looks a bit weird.
