Dieren and the surrounding area
Dieren is situated in a beautiful area amid forests, heath and water.
National park “The Veluwezoom”, abutting Dieren, hosts an earthen wall created by glaciers during the last Ice Age;
with on one side the Veluwe and on the other side the river IJssel.
By car you can quickly reach the national park “De Hoge Veluwe” and visit the famous “Kröller Müller” museum.
The Gelderse IJssel is one of the most beautiful rivers in the Netherlands.
An old-fashioned ferry across the IJssel is your gateway to the “Achterhoek”, our sparcely populated “back corner”.
The area surrounding Dieren is a hikers or a bikers paradise.
A 5 minute walk from our house brings you to the train station.
4 trains per hour and on sunday 3 trains per hour can bring you to :
Zutphen, Deventer, Zwolle;
Zutphen, Winterswijk, Arnhem, Nijmegen.
