Militaire Tafel (1923)

De Militaire serie is door Rietveld ontworpen voor een Katholiek Militair Tehuis in 1923 en bestaat o.a. uit de tafel (in verschillende maten), de stoel in verschillende versies en een kruk. Mijn versie van de tafel is 80 x 200 cm en is gemaakt van standaard materialen uit de bouwmarkt: vuren voor de stijlen, regels en klossen, een nyatoh werkblad als tafelblad en eenvoudige slotbouten. De tafel is afgewerkt met blanke bootlak.

Het resultaat is een grote (werk)tafel die tegelijkertijd licht en transparant oogt.

Militairy Table (1923)

Rietveld designed this furniture for a Catholic Militairy Hostel in 1923.

The series consists of the table (in different sizes), a chair in different versions and the stool.

My version of the table measures 80 x 200 cm and has been made from standard materials from the local woodstore: pine battens for posts, rails and blocks, a nyatoh table top and simple coach bolts. It has been painted with clear yacht varnish. This results in a large (working) table that looks quite light and transparant.
