A castle gives us a feeling of freedom, security and power.
But also a feeling of mystery, history, fear and dark hidden caves.
This mix of feelings was the source of inspiration for the Dutch artist ELS ECKHARDT to create these imaginary castles, based on (fragments) of waxpaintings - encaustic technics - and small acrylic paintings.
The intuitive, handwrittten manuscripts were made before, and inspirated the paintings of the castles.
