Introduction: the (world's/universal/cosmic) construction and its cohesion

Long ago, in prehistoric times when people had started working together and thinking, they must have sought for points of orientation and mutual points of reference of vital importance for communities and in everyday social contacts. They searched for them in rivers, old trees, differences in height and in the heavens, erected groups of stones or, later, even full-scale pyramids, discovered regularity, coherence and structure in the world, exchanged information with neighbours and decided together on measures and norms.
They recognised a path of easily observable groups of stars along which the sun, measured against the seasons, moved. They gave them names, in case seafarers had not done so already, and divided that trajectory in twelve parts, the zodiac, for measuring. They observed and understood the two equinoxes (when day and night are equal) and, thanks to many centuries of observation, also its precession, the backward movement within the zodiac.
But why in twelve parts? We can only guess about that, but it is a fact that people, e.g. pyramid-builders, played with several different bases and mostly triangular sides. Mathematics is an ancient discipline and I am convinced that twelve was the deliberate starting point. In part 2 of the structure-line I introduced some tentative starting points with the 3 times 4 principles or preconditions as the basis for the structure. That seems to prove itself in practice.



The ground rules and development of the organism, 4 animations

The world; the unity [ source ] of the observable world of spacetime and the relative world of quanta, is based on natural principles. An organism is a framework of interactive parts with a specific function.
The basis principles:

  1. there is matter, plurality, discrimination, movement, attraction, cyclicity, etc.
  2. - core notions or qualities are spread over twelve (×2/3/5) domains,
  3. - which leads to six levels or types of RELATIONS of increasing complexity,
  4. - which are characteristic of a specific SPACE and TIME,
  5. it links these unique properties with the occasion of that moment,
  6. it lays down the capacities and duration of the event in relation with material/immaterial environments in a material/immaterial function or purpose.
    Thus a determined/ing and coordinated/ing process arises, an active part and interactive organ of the incomplete, self-developing organism.
    Due to this mutuality the individual's responsibility, shared with environments, and its free will are confirmed, and the authority of the law is left intact, in spite of nebulosity.

    NB The description of the foundation presented in Animation 1 is complete and self-correcting in the sense that the different types of relations confirm the correctness of the positioning of the core notions, or not.

The version presented here is based on general and humane notions and suitable as basis for the description of processes with a general purpose. For a specialised scientific version, for instance the structure of psychology, a balanced whole with general and appropriate technical notions would have to be put together.
It has recently been confirmed that "gravity has no intrinsic reality", that "the speed of light is not invariable, not 'real', but disappears in the frame of reference of the light itself", that "the observer in one universe is the observed in the other universe" and that "the properties of any particle, any object, are determined by all the other objects in the universe" [ sources ].

A dog can discover itself within its construction and the limits of its own individual dogness by trial and error, in practice. The same applies for humans, communities, things and contexts; the world as a whole clearly provides for this.

The processes in the animations 2, 3 and 4 provide a clear representation of both the in spacetime invariant point of view (the unique qualities) of the observer (participant or occasion), and also the world of quantum relations which coordinates the individual development of the task. The change of viewpoint back and forth between dynamic interaction and dialectic consideration or character distinguishes the two central means for the development of processes. These varying viewpoints are designated in the backgrounds of the first five animations.

The emphasis of the general interpretation presented here lies on the human point of view in society and development, which is the most complex form (world) imaginable. The human form is also indispensible because experience with human processes and language is the only common factor of all scientists. The structure of the universe(world) as a whole can therefore only be deduced from the most complex knowledge everyone has by nature at their disposal and from the open form of that. Due to that literally all-embracing outlook and my intention to present an objective, natural and understandable collection of concepts, I have sought both characteristic and colourful scientific, everyday and general ideas [ note ].


Animation 2. FUNCTION & OWN WORLD viewpoint:
a process in interaction

Before anything can happen, before the principles can come into operation, there must be a participant with an individual cause in a personal universe. In a broader sense: there must be an (organic) mechanism, a process, with unique properties, with its own given task and its own way of looking at its individual reality (environment), in order to develop these qualities and task.

From the actual need, from either its environments or contexts or from the player itself, the character of that actual world which perfectly fits the purpose will be chosen, and it will be decided when the activity can start.
There is a choice, there is a unique process.
Activity arises; there is a related, mutually determinating and coordinating process.
A process can be: an actual occasion (e.g. cycle, a part of:), an individual process (person, tree, part of:), a society (correspondence, similarity) [ note ].

Planets, moons and other large objects and groupings in space, are consequently also unique processes which develop the qualities they have received and exercise tasks within environments, bringing their own character, influence and function into the constantly changing relations with larger unities. They have a strong individual character which is, moreover, determined by both the character of their own domain in the zodiac and their variable mutual relations.

In this second animation a process realises itself: a determined and determining female participant with a given task and capacities, within her own world of spacetime and quantum relations mutually co-ordinating with varying environments, gradually experiences her history.


Relativity, coordinated development of 1 process

From earth we see, against the background of the universal spacetime structure (2.1), the solar organism's structure with its continuously changing positions of planets and other objects (2.2) in its gravitational field.
The earth turns, supplying every place on earth with its own coordinates of unique spacetime. When a new process or cycle presents itself it combines with the coordinates of that specific place and time and gets provided with its own spacetime characteristics, its individual capacities. This unique point of orientation of space and time (where the north/south line (2.3), which also indicates time, crosses the east/west line) is called the Ascendant (2.4) [see structure line #13: orientation on the rotating earth]. The Ascendant is the origin of the 12 phases of the process.
From there a process starts its once-only existence (2.4), develops together with the help of varying environments, reacts to changes, causes changes when time is ripe for it and realises its purpose(s) (2.5-2.27). It follows, by all appearances, just like the planets 'its straight path in curved space'.
It plays, and all the while it discovers its place.

Processes start, as we have just seen, from their individual standpoint in spacetime in the midst of changing environments. After the view from outside the single process, we now turn to views from within some processes with different Ascendants. The planets, seen as functions, are related to one of the twelve domains of principles or ground rules. As their positions move and the relations between themselves change, the character of both the functions and their combination with the principles will change and with that also the influence or action they produce.
This series consists mainly of (birth) data which are used as examples in the pattern line, and of some well documented historical events. It starts with Albert Einstein who, as it happens, begins from his physical existence, the fourth principle.

AO = Actual Occasion (different from a process which develops in the course of time).

The Ascendant indicates, as it appears, the start of a process or an actual occasion: its presence in time. The also visible, clearly present, purpose of the process, its "raison d'ętre", is the function, or group of functions, with the greatest influence within the whole process in which the references come together.
The MOON (the developing nature of the being, of the participant) moves +12 degrees forward in the course of a day. This means that her relation with and reference to other functions will change gradually. If this also implies a transition to the next domain it should show a relevant difference. In the numbers 2, 4, 7, 11, 12, 14 en 16 is the development of this process's basis very clear.
At present the reference pattern is, as far as I know, seldom used in astrological practice, probably because it offers less reliable information if coupled with one of the constructed systems (with unequal houses). Applied within the phase structure of the process, however, it provides valuable information, as the two versions in this animation #3 (from function in domain to function) and those in the pattern line (from phase/working area to function) show.


Animation 4. DEVELOPMENT in TIME:
the role of phases and their character

The world is in development and development needs time. The phases of a process represent the course of time and the changing activities and circumstances.
In this animation only the phases themselves are described as they start acting in a domain, not the functions which play a role therein. The exception is this special case where, within the 9th phase, the MOON the individual nature, passes in the course of this process the planet PLUTO the confronting challenger.

AO = Actual Occasion (different from a process which develops in the course of time).

Here we can see the personal change within the original pattern of connection. The pattern of reference has thus been joined into a whole and the 9th phase (development, product) has come in contact with memory and the (un)digested experiences in the phases 3, 4, 5, 11 and 12. Both the development of the own nature and the progress of the mental and physical development are rendered in the pattern.



Two technical aspects of individual spacetime: the ASCENDANT, 2 animations

Having developed the twelve principles/basic preconditions, it seemed an obvious choice to use this circle as the basis and to link it to the Ascendant, as can be seen in the animations 2, 3 and 4. This is in contrast to the house system with the signs of the zodiac in the background, which is in common use in astrology. This also shows more clearly the character of the starting point of the process and the relations and references between its parts/principles.
Since ± 1250 it has become common practice in astrology to use one of many house systems, most of them based on a combination of the Ascendant, the eastern horizon of the event, and the MC (Medium Coeli on the local meridian), the current environmental time along that meridian. As I have learned that the system of coordinates itself represents its individual spacetime character I start from there [ note ] and couple the phase structure of the process with the Ascendant: the intersection of 1. the line of connection with the centre of the earth, 2. the parallel of latitude (distance from the equator) and 3. the meridian (the turning of the earth: both space and time). This is in keeping with the "Equal Houses" partitioning (which is believed to be more than 3000 years old). I maintain the character of the MC as a supplement, separate from the phase structure.
We cannot escape the problem that the moment of birth, the start of independent breathing, is often hard to determine, as I have repeatedly established.

The reference pattern provides important and accessible information which is complementary to the pattern of relations or aspects. It displays the shift that takes place from where the principle(domain) at the start of a phase (or an function is located) towards the function related to that principle(domain), to proceed from that point to the function analogous with that priciple, and so on. See above, Animation 3.

This series of 24 parts (=processes) starts and ends at 10:30h. In all parts in between, the Ascendant moves through the different domains of principles, the unequal speed depending on the degree of latitude that is the distance from the equator, in this case Ulm 48°23' North. While the earth, in the course of the day, passes through the entire circle, the tempo of the Ascendant changes, thanks to the tilted position of the earth. All phases take part in this move and their duration changes accordingly, by nature, in spite of their equal format; all priciples and functions are involved.
In the course of the day the phases of the process also move: thereby the activity of the functions etc. changes accordingly. See above, Animation 4.


Animation 6. The TURNING TILTED Earth:
its effect above the polar circles

In connection with the information of the patterns in animation #4 I thought it might be interesting to study the differences at the (northern) polar region. That would also round off the series of animations in the zines #9 and #13. It led to the following curious surprise.
NB: the central block at the left is the view from above, the block at the right is the side-view (after a quarter turn) of the globe;
NB: the positions of A and B are the almost exact counterpart of the positions of C and D; at the same clock time at the two different meridians (1=7 with a difference in time of 12 hours) there are small differences in the positions of Asc, MC, Moon and planets. In three figures the positions of B and C differ strongly, whereas they are expected to be quite similar.


Four locations, two on 0° and two on 179° meridian

The earth rotates regularly around its north/south axis; the indicator of time (MC or Medium Coeli) needs 24:00 hours to complete the ±360° towards the beginning of the next day. The earth itself, like the other objects, has its own spacetime characteristics and function within the framework of this solar organism.

The two sides of the globe move proportionally: the locations A and D change places every 12 hours, just like the locations B and C. As a consequence, the East directions (Ascendants) should almost be the same while the environment of the earth, the other parts of the solar organism in the first place, change place as time passes. B and C do not show this proportionality consistently.
This problem might be the result of an incorrect astronomical routine [ note ] generally applied in astrology software.



Determination and Freedom: the relation between individual and its environments

As a rule a foetus, the unborn entity, decides for itself, at its own time, to close the connection with the mother. By closing the blood supply it severs the food and oxygen supply. So, after this the little entity must begin to breathe and by that become a baby. This can happen before the delivery but also a considerable time after birth, as the 'dead baby in the box' (Asuncion, Paraguay, August 6 2013 'baby born prematurely'), who seemed to have come to life anyway four hours later, has clearly established. By deciding for itself (together with the environment, evidently not alone the physician) the moment of breathing it becomes a determining being (participant), with determined qualities in spacetime. It finds itself in disorderly but actually coordinating (deterministic) environments, which forces it to take responsibility and achieve for itself its personal freedom, and by that to wittingly or unwittingly exercise its task.

The purpose of a process, humane or constructed, is its share in the development within a broader framework, is its reason for existence. That purpose can only then be consciously handled and experienced if the person has been able to develop a clear and genuine self-image. Although behaviour, including mental behaviour, is affected and determined by environments, mental freedom remains a personal accomplishment.
Processes in development unwittingly and invariably raise reactions from the environment which there and then presents itself. Such an 'accidental' situation, the occurrance of apparent goodluck and misfortune or of serious interventions which not only children and adults convoke and experience but where also old and new, carefully established, systems and plans are persistently troubled by and take advantage of, is called an "Actual Occasion".
All this leads to the conclusion that each process, be it a human, mass or problem, experiences and completes not only these actual occasions but also the contacts with different societies (aggregates of processes) of which it is a part. The contacts between the three distinguished types run via their own phases of development each in its own way, individual in spacetime and universally related.

I am convinced that the universe as a whole is an organism which develops naturally. It experiments with systems and constructs, explores limits, and collides with the fact that there are no absolutes, that everything has two sides. Changing environments do set their own changing limits.

Insight in and knowledge of the circumstances of a process and consequently the chance whether an individual process will be able to fulfil the desired goal or required conditions depends on the possibility to ascertain the Ascendant(s).

To conclude

And thus the image of the Principia naturalia universitatis, of the twelve universal principles (groundrules as lines of conduct) or basic laws which generally count and within social organisms can be passed on and taught is now completed: the relativity or cohesion, individual task or self-worth, interactivity, the incompleteness, mutual dependency, limit of literally all processes; the universal organism of development [ note ]. This multi-dimensional method is in fact an all-encompassing approach which, above all, also serves the interest of all areas of science, of both natural sciences and social sciences and other fields of complex knowledge. As it is also an advancement with respect to the customary two-dimensional classifications, such as John Dewey's decimal system, this approach might contribute to communication and mutual understanding, in short lead to more unity in knowledge.

Not only the ground rules, but also the thorough modification in the structure of the astrological model (from the present-day form back to the original Babylonian astrology) is based on the unique qualities of processes. It describes their development in spacetime and relativity, the (mutual) involvement with changing suitable environments, and the correction or indication of faults therein. I would like to stress that this has been possible only thanks to the inspiration gained from Johan Huizinga's 'Homo ludens' (and John Dewey, A.N. Whitehead, G. Cardano, H. Marcuse and many others), and the traces of structure in nature's code in numbers & logic, music & colours, ancient Babylonian, Chinese, Maya- and Inca-thinking.

All this, together with the broad gamut of my own experiences of space & time, order & chaos, mutuality & general dependency, of inequality & equivalence, has formed the personal memories needed for a task like this. I can go on again and in the last three parts of the themes line (starting with #34/10) think about the ground rules, but now about their consequences and thus as a reviewer of myself: in what way did certain influences and the certainty of 'coincidences' direct my development?
