With the assistance of the emulator you can read and write data from a Psion Series 3c on a PC. For example with the emulator it is possible to update your agenda also on a PC. Or when you want to add lots of addresses you can do this with the emulator on the PC. Not all applications from the Series 3c run in the emulator. Programs which make use of floating point calculations or work with soundfiles can go wrong. Most of the applications do work well on the Series 3c emulator.

Supplement

The emulator for the Series 3c is completely different than those for the Series 3a. The past years shows that the emulator is less robust than the emulator for the Series 3a. Because both machines are almost the same it is advised to use the emulator Series 3a for the development of software. You will find the same software in the Series 3c emulator as in the real Psion Series 3c. So you will find Filemanager and enhanced functions on some parts. While temptation is there, it is likely that the emulator is less robust because of Filemanager which has to deal with the PC environment. Of course it is possible to test software on this emulator, for instance to see if machine recognition is correct. It is advised to save regularly because the machine is less strongly build and will stall sooner.

Some bugs are found in the emulator. In menu "Info" the option "memory info" does not work. The program aborts with the error message "Process exited, Exit number 10". Exit number 10 means no system memory. This message appear on all the testsystems. The testsystems memory was 8Mb up to 512Mb memory. For this reason the diamond key and the short key sequence doesn't work correct.

The English version of the emulator Series 3c is a complete different machine than the emulator Series 3c Belgian version. This can be seen clearly with number of screenprints. In the Belgian version it is possible to make 99 pictures, in the English version this is reduced to 1 and the next picture will overwrite the first! The experiment for mixing the two emulators is not yet tried. The files EPOC.RMI and EPOC.DLL are the language dependend modules. The experiment is to take the complete Belgian emulator and to copy the English EPOC.RMI and EPOC.DLL.

The pictures above are made with the settings below which are the standard setup for HHSERVER.PAR;
	SERVER_PARAMS -X480 -Y160 -D
	SERVER_DUMP server.dmp
The maximum possible settings are equal to the dimensions of a standard VGA screen;
	SERVER_PARAMS -X640 -Y480 -D
