ICE
KITING |

This winter I tried, for the first time, skating on ice powered by a kite. I used my ice hockey skates and for protecting I also put on a helm and ice hockey paints. The lake, I usually kitesurf on, was covered with very good ice and I was not the only one experimenting. See photo's. I used a 2.2 C-quad as traction kite.

| One of my kite friend (Robert Dierdorp) was also getting his kicks. Normally he is into kitesurfing and mountainboarding with and without kites. He removed the wheels of his Kheo Mountainboard and assembled an iron-construction. And it worked! I also tried it on Ice. It is easy to steer. It feels the same as kite-mountainboarding but faster. We used a 3.2 C-quad as traction. I have a real nice movie which is to big for my site which I can send on request. Some parts were taken at night. Robert mounted even little head-lights on his board! |
