Charts As an aid worker and an analyst you often use charts. A good chart represents reality in a convenient and clear way and it will help you understand and evaluate a case. However, the use of a chart may also hold certain risks: the chart may simplify reality too much or, conversely, make it seem more complicated than it actually is, in such a way that you fail to see the wood for the trees. Using a chart is often not easy, and designing and laying out a good and reliable chart is even more complicated. Having said all this, once you have a good chart, it will help you get quickly to the cutting edge of a case, and find and formulate relevant questions regarding the situation at hand. With the new insights, you will feel more able to handle the problems of your client in a more adequate and efficient way. In the course of the years we have developed a number of charts on a variety of subjects. Still other charts are in preparation. You too can order these charts. More information Find more information about the charts below. We have an overview of all charts available in this handy brochure (pdf). Print it double-sided. On the charts

Categories Of Conflicts Regarding Honour Related ViolenceThe chart of Categories Of Conflicts Regarding Honour Related Violence we developed in 2007 has been used much in the Netherlands. Categories Of Conflicts Regarding Honour Related ViolenceThere is much discussion about forced marriages, without there being a clear method to determine a forced marriage. This chart intends to cover this gap. By means of the chart you first establish whether there is actually a marriage, or plans for a marriage (for without a marriage or plans, there cannot be a forced marriage). Then, secondly, you determine whether, in a given case, there are forms of coercion. For coercion in a general sense there exist objective criteria that, e.g., also apply to abduction, rape and forced labor. |
