Dumnoni Weekend

Moots 999

The first week of may brought the Moots. For the first time some of the factions of the Summoning got together for a weekend, apart from the main event, which will be held in July. We used the Moots to see whether being at an LRP event with our daughter Kirsten would work. And it did! As you can see on the picture, she liked it all the way and even knows how to defend herself already.

We had a great time, a good adventure with a good end-battle and a very tasty BBQ. Most of all we had good weather and a great atmosphere. Let's do it again next year!

Dumnoni Destiny I

On the last weekend of may we had another premiere: Destiny I, the first weekend in the Celtic Dumnoni setting in Holland. This was to be our first real camping weekend with Kirsten and though the first night was a bit restless (probably due to the cold), the rest of the weekend was perfect. We had a great time with our Arkeesh family (thanks Rob and Ben). We saw some very good roleplaying and (again) good weather and a great atmosphere. This was also the first time I went into the end battle bare chested :-)

Below you see our camp and group: the Sheepherds from the Arkeesh clan.

On the saturday morning the Goddess Danu (Mother Earth) spoke through the little Kirsten, causing all people to fall onto their knees in front of her cart (very comical sight!)

On the next picture you can see us preparing for the main battle at the Shrine of Danu. If you look closely, you can see the chesthair of some people that shall remain anonymous...

Kirsten had a great time. She was even allowed to sit in the throne of good Queen Athea with the Brehan (or should I say John, the organiser?)

I'm afraid that with all the organizing, I didn't get around to making many pictures. Here's one I would like to share though and Yvonne sent to us:
Oh, by the way, there's no water in the swimmingpool, because we only used it as a clean place for her to play (an inflatable box).
On the second picture you can see that Kirsten already tries to join in on the action.

Dumnoni Destiny II

September brought the second and much enticpated Dumnoni weekend. After the success of the first episode, expectations for the second weekend were very high. Even though the expectations were only partially met, this was another great weekend and I'm already preparing for the next one!

And finally some plot action: The blessing of the sacred well 'The Tears of Danu' and the bugbeast.

Halloween Night

Since we just moved to our new house, we decided that we'd give a special housewarming party for our LRP friends. We made it into a halloween party! We dressed the house up in Halloween style, we had some special food and drinks and there were some great costumes! We also played some games, of which the game 'Guillotine' turned our to be enjoyed the most.
Though it wasn't really a roleplaying night, we did see some familiar characters, such as Grushnak, a goblin ex-Navigator, Peer the undertaker and a certain person's skull. Here are some pictures:
