When I started out with this, I was surprised at the number of pictures I could find of Henrik.
They also seemed to occur in books, printed in different towns,so the plates must have been carried around a bit.
On the other hand it becomes clear that other printers had their own woodcutters, who made new blocks, inspired by older prints, when they issued a new book. Henrik often did not have much influence, which becomes obvious when prints were made, after 1580, which do not show the Order of the Elephant he received that year.
At Antwerpen, at Plantijn, they even unscrupiously cut away the sides of the old block, when they isssued a smaller size book!
Others obviously had a block which could be fitted with different years, and/or with different dedications.
There might be a nice story to be told about these practices!
