Chapter:-Sanding and separating-

It was important that the staples didn't go too deeply into the wood. All staples needed to be removed before sanding. It was a quick and easy piece of work.
Sanding, a dusty job. Holding the machine in one place too long will create dents in the wood, so I had to keep it moving. Both the garage and I were covered with dust.
To downsize the staple holes I used a syringe, injecting water into the wood. I was hoping that when the wood dried it would shrink a little. It worked well.
Separating the hull and deck went very easily. I used 2 wedges and pushed them between two strips, these had been left without glue, specially for that purpose.
Look at the picture, it tells the whole story. Great.
Now started the difficult and the most boring task of all, sanding the inside. This was not enjoyable, and many days worth of work. I had to remove the hard ridge of glue, using a chisel, paint-stripper and whatever else I could find to help me do this job.
I took me almost a week. Both the deck and the hull needed to be done. This took lots of patience and strong arms.
