Chapter:-Skeg housing and knee braces-

The skeg housing was also built using strips. These form 2 walls each covered by 2 layers of epoxy and fibreglass. They were mounted 18 mm. apart. Applying the first layer of epoxy. Stupid me, I didn't wear a mask. The skeg housing, mounted and already shaped to fit. You can see the axle for the PVC skeg. The skeg is made of 6 mm. PVC sheet. Skeg with 2 glued disks for the 5 mm. shock cord, which pulls the skeg out. The skeg housing fits into a slot in the hull. The knee braces are built around a PVC tube, diam. 80 mm. The knee braces will be the last thing placed in the boat. They will be fixed under the cockpit recess.
