I used a small table circle saw to make very thin Ashwood strips to build reinforcements for the bow and stern, and later the cockpit.
I soaked the thin wooden strips a day in my pond.
After steaming the Ashwood for 20 minutes, I pulled the strips for the cockpit around a simple mould. This was then left to cool down for 1 hour.
Using all the clamps I have, the strips were attached with polyurethane glue.
The picture shows the Ashwood - stern.
