Our home in Bingelder (= Bingelrade, Limburg, Netherlands)
02 february 2003:
First we would like to make some
comment. Due to our moving we do not have access to any kind of media,
nor time to read, hear or see them. Therefore we only heard of the
terrible news very, very late in the evening. 010203 will be a tearful
day to remember for a lot of people. We mean of course the accident
with the Space Shuttle Columbia. Space-travel-fan Boi was very shocked
when he heard the news at last, and when he told Nicole right after,
she was shocked as well. This was a black day in modern space-age
history. Our own little party has gotten a black background.
Second, we would like to make good for an omission:
The bread and salt that Dad and Ma brought along. We totally forgot to make a picture yesterday.
There's not a lot to tell today. Not because we didn't do anything,
hell no! It's only that we both did jobs that took us the whole day to
complete. Nicole was busy in the kitchen, filling cupboards and
cabinets. All food and utensils are now in Bingelder, the kitchen at
the flat is now empty -except for Boi's magnificent stove. Nicole was
busy with that all day.
Boi gave the immense wall a second lick of
paint. That wall is completed now, thank you very much. And he made
some preparations for painting the other walls, so Dad and he can start
immediately tomorrow.
Lastly we fitted some screens to the windows
upstairs. The first one took about twenty minutes, the other seven took
about five minutes each. It was one of those "translated" manuals, you
see.
Tomorrow the phone-connection moves, together with ADSL of course, so tomorrow we can update you in peace from Bingelder.
Oh, and of course congratulations to Wim and Max. Our first year of
marriage will be in september, so that will take some time yet.
Nicole has a short moment to sit down.
Boi too.
But not too long.
Done!
