'Eenige wakkere jongens' (book)

Nederlandse oorlogsvliegers in de Britse luchtstrijdkrachten 1940-1945

Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog namen ruim 650 Nederlanders deel aan de luchtstrijd boven Europa. Bijna 235 van hen kwamen daarbij om. Wie waren zij? ‘Eenige Wakkere Jongens’ is de eerste integrale studie over de Nederlandse strijdkrachten in Groot-Brittannië. Het boek beschrijft de tot dusver onderbelichte geschiedenis van een groep onverschrokken jongemannen – uitgeweken militairen, vrijwilligers van overzee en Engelandvaarders – die hun leven riskeerden voor de vrijheid van anderen.

During WW2 approx. 800 dutchmen participated in the air operations above Europe. Of those, 235 lost their life. "Who were they?" The book "Eenige Wakkere Jongens" is the first comprehensive study about the dutch forces in England. The term was derived from a call in the Netherlands East Indies, to experienced pilots, who were asked to apply for service in the Naval Air Service in 1940 and 1941. Volunteers, englandpaddlers - who risked their lifes to achieve freedom again.
