Introduction
This five-day instructor-led course enables students to design, plan, implement, and manage a SharePoint™ Portal infrastructure that allows people in their organization to leverage relevant information across business processes so they can work more efficiently.

Audience
This course is intended for IT Professionals who work in medium to large organizations and have experience in networking infrastructure using Microsoft Windows Server™ 2003.

At Course Completion
After completing this course, students will be able to:

• Describe the architecture of Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server.
• Deploy SharePoint Portal Server in a single-server environment.
• Configure SharePoint Portal Server and technologies in a single-server environment.
• Deploy SharePoint Portal Server in a server farm.
• Manage users and sites.
• Plan and implement disaster recovery strategies.
• Install backwards-compatible document libraries.

Prerequisites
Before attending this course, students must have:

• Successful completion of the Windows Server 2003 core curriculum for MCSAs, or equivalent knowledge
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003
• Working knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP, Domain Name System (DNS), and Internet Information Services (IIS)
