On this page, I try to give an open and honest answer on some common questions. If you have a burning question yourself, mail it to Ruud.
I saw your picture and was wondering, is that your natural hair color or did you paint it red?
Ruud: Mee, mee, mee.
You are 1.90 meters tall and weigh only 70 kg. What is your secret?
Ruud: Eat whatever you like, but don't swallow anything. No seriously, I have no idea. I guess I was born with a mouse stomach.
I go cycling a lot too, but for some reason I'm always up against the wind. How come?
Ruud: That's funny, I always ride with the wind in my back. (Did we run into each other already? :-) Sometimes I see people sit on their bikes like a nodding-donkey. Even when there's no wind they are still working out with all of their body. People like that make their own wind. Cycling is something you do with your legs, not with your arms. Let your legs do the job and leave your arms to rest. That will save you a lot of energy.
When dancing, how do you keep yourself from stepping on your partner's toes?
Ruud: Make sure your partner is not directly opposite of you, but a little to the side. Your partner should be standing in front of your right leg. Don't look at your feet and don't try to stand further away from your partner, this only makes it worse. Instead, try standing closer to each other, now you can step beside or even beyond your partner's feet instead of on top of them. If it still happens, don't panic. There's nothing wrong with stepping on someone's toes. Just as long as you don't completely trample them, that is.
When dancing, my partner always tries to take over the lead. What can I do about this?
Ruud: Do as I did: follow 400 dancing lessons with 13 or more different partners over a period of 7 years. Then return to your own partner and notice the difference. If that would take you too long, you might consider buying a whip.
What's with the dancing dicks on the top right of your main page?
Ruud: Don't be a smart ass. You don't even have one yourself, so what would you know about that?
I have two questions:
Bye,
Bor Salp, a.k.a. The Cleaner
Ruud:
Grab your gal and hit the floor."
"Computers. Big or small, I like 'em all".
OPERATING SYSTEEM TER WERELD ALLER TIJDEN. Misschien dat dat eventjes
aan je aandacht ontglipt was. K'dacht zeghet maar even.
Groetjes,
Henk
Ruud:
Groetjes Inge.
(Quick translation: Inge says I should check out a restaurant called De Bastille in Delft.)
Ruud: No, never been there, I'm curious. At the moment my favourite is Dionysos, a Greek restaurant at the Schouwburgplein in Rotterdam. (Don't tell anyone, or everybody will be wanting to go there.)
