Dynamic models of biological pattern formation. At present the models illustrate general principles rather than model a specific organism. The computer programs are animations and extensions of the Turing process. This is a model of pattern formation designed by Alan Turing, the famous British mathematician who was one of the founding fathers of computer science and helped to crack the German secret communication code during the Second World War. One 'light' version of a Turing like process, based on an equation designed by Hans Westerhoff, can be run as a Java applet from this website.

Special features
This was not a serious research project, but was done to practice writing a project in Java. However, to me the dynamically evolving pattern looked quite nice, and I now also have programmed Alan Turing's original model from 1952 as a Java application.
