The Psion to OS/2 Connection 'How to' guides

There are several 'how to' guides available on topics about the exchange of data between your OS/2 or eCS based computer and a Psion PDA. On this page you will find all the 'how to' guides that are currently available. All guides mentioned here can also be accessed from the 'native OS/2 solutions' page or the 'useful utilities' page from this website.

Subject How to create a direct link using standard software
Information A connection can be made between a Psion and your OS/2 based computer using standard software available on both platforms. This guide shows you step by step how to do it.
Software needed Psion: Comms
OS/2: Hyper Access Lite
Location: 'How to' guide: setup a direct link

Subject How to import your contacts in Lotus Organizer
Information Your Psion allows you to carry your Contacts database where ever you go. But wouldn't it be nice if this information was also available in Lotus Organizer for OS/2 Warp on your desktop computer? It is possible to export data from the Psion's Contacts database and import this information in the Adress section of Lotus Organizer.
Please note: This 'how to' guide was based on version 1.6 of Lotus Organizer. The recently introduced version 1.7 seems to have an annoying bug. Import of comma-delimited files will crash the Organizer program! It is possible to import your data in the previous 1.6 version and copy the entire datafile (*.OR4) to the new location. Version 1.7 will work with this file. You might also use the new Contacts Viewer program I've written (see usefull utilities) for a description of this program. There's also a short 'How to-guide' on this page.
Software needed Psion: C2F (see the 'useful utilities' page for more details)
OS/2: Lotus Organizer for OS/2 Warp
Location: 'How to' guide: Import Contacts in Lotus Organizer

Subject How to use Contacts Viewer
Information This is an easy to use freeware program to view your Contacts data on your OS/2 or eCS desktop. There's no need to import any data. The Viewer simply works with the export-file generated on the Psion with the C2F utility. You can costumize the program to show fieldnames the way you have them on your Psion.
Software needed Psion: C2F (see the 'useful utilities' page for more details)
OS/2: Contacts Viewer (see the 'useful utilities' page for more details)
Location: 'How to' guide: Using Contacts Viewer

Subject How to import your agenda in Lotus Organizer
Information For many of us the Agenda is the most important application available on the Psion PDA. It is possible to convert the data in your Psion's Agenda to Lotus Organizer Calender section. It is not (yet) possible to do a full synchronisation, but this guide describes how to get your data into Lotus Organizer. Please note: Version 1.7 of Lotus Organizer has a bug in the import function. This guide was based on version 1.6 which will work OK.
Software needed Psion: Agenda Dump 2.0 (see the 'useful utilities' page for more details)
OS/2: Lotus Organizer for OS/2 Warp
Location: 'How to' guide: Import your Agenda in Lotus Organizer

Subject How to import your agenda in StarOffice 5.1
Information StarOffice 5.1 is capable of synchronising the Schedular with 3Com Palm devices but not with Psion PDA's. This 'how to' guide shows you how to export data from your Psion's Agenda en import them in the Schedular application from StarOffice 5.1 using a freeware utility called vCal. It is not possible to do a full synchronisation, but vCal can also be used to transfer data from Schedular to Psion as well.
Software needed Psion: vCal (see the 'useful utilities' page for more details)
OS/2: StarOffice 5.1
Location: 'How to' guide: Import your Agenda in StarOffice 5.1
