Number of dots.

There is a big range of number of dots around the obverse and reverse borders. In my collection there are coins with 35 dots up to 82 dots. In general the later Ga-den Thanka types, from type Fvi /KM y13.6, have more dots.

Presence of spokes on the reverse side of the coin.
On the first types of the Ga-den Thangkas you can't find spokes. On later types of the same Thangkas there are spokes which extend to the octagon.

'Mules'
'Mules' ; In this variation there is a different reverse side instead of the reverse side which is normally accompanying the obverse side  (e.g.  The reverse die will come to the end of its life-time before the obverse die. In this case the obverse die will continue to be used with a newly cut die or with an other old reverse die).

In the following example  the size of the obverse die is smaller than the size of the reverse side.

Die rotation
Die rotation; the obverse and reverse of the coin are not correctly aligned.

Size
The size of most Ga-den Thangkas is between 26 mm and 29 mm. A bigger variety of about 31 mm is known. This last variety is very rare!
