Secret Markers

There are secret marks on some Gaden Thangkas. These marks indicate a sophisticated control of the details of the design of the coin. Probable the marks were introduced as a method of controlling or detecting forgeries and partly to identify the official responsible monk or the date of issue.

Biii

Reverse side of Biii,
There is a dot to the left of  one of the oval frames. A three little crescents with an angel to the left (or right) is  located on the left side of the oval frame located on the other side of the coin. The top frame is joined to the central octagon by a small line.
